Update on Main Street Pedestrian Crossing
/in News, Noticeboard /by Anne PallettWork should have started on the new pedestrian crossing on Main Street, near the library, by VIA East Midlands Ltd. The work consists of new drainage, resurfacing, carriageway repairs, upgrading of existing street lighting, road markings and installation of zebra crossing and associated equipment. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent severe shortage of resources due to self-isolation, VIA have had to postpone the works for the new zebra crossing on Main Street Calverton until later in the year. A new start date will be confirmed once the situation becomes clearer and they have sufficient resource available. VIA will inform residents of the new date through a further letter drop.
Community Involvement
/in News, Noticeboard /by Anne PallettWe are keen to involve members of the community in projects that will benefit the village. There have been several litter picks organised by residents along with Gedling Borough Council’s Big Clean. We are therefore looking to organise community events such as litter picking, bulb planting on verges and in parks, cemetery tidy up, maintenance of village planters/communal areas, Dark Lane/Keen Well tidy and clean up to make into a non-seated picnic area, in fact any ideas you have which may benefit the village please let us know.
